I dream of the horizon
and words fail;
yes, I know there is no light
in a room where the sun is absent,
if you are not here with me.
At the windows
show everyone my heart
which you set alight;
enclose within me
the light you
encountered on the street.
Time to say goodbye.
I’ll go with you
to countries I never
saw and shared with you,
now, yes, I shall experience them.
I’ll go with you
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer;
it’s time to say goodbye.
…with you I shall experience them.
When you are far away
I dream of the horizon
and words fail,
and, yes, I know
that you are with me;
you, my moon, are here with me,
my sun, you are here with me
with me, with me, with me.
Time to say goodbye.
I’ll go with you
to countries I never
saw and shared with you,
now, yes, I shall experience them.
I’ll go with you
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer,
…with you I shall experience them again.
I’ll go with you
on ships across seas
which, I know,
no, no, exist no longer,
with you I shall experience them again.
I’ll go with you.

You fucked a 23-year-old? How old are you? Why do you want to act like a man when it comes to sex?
February 5, 2008 at 2:41 am
lol. please enlighten me. what does it mean to act like a man when it comes to sex?
February 5, 2008 at 3:05 pm
to act like a man when it comes to sex, adv.: 1. To be on top. 2. To have an active libido. 3. To be lustful of youth, beauty and fertility/virility.
February 5, 2008 at 3:09 pm
ps – where did i write a fucked a 23-yo? desiring something and acting on those desires are two different things.
February 5, 2008 at 3:43 pm
thanks hope. using your standards: i like my man on top. but i have an extremely active libido. and i appreciate and emanate youth, beauty and fertility…so i’m only half like a man when it comes to sex…;) but i find the most common criteria for having sex like a man point is emotional detachment; having sex for the sake of sex. and historically, i have been very adept at this.
February 5, 2008 at 4:49 pm
You said it on Roissy’s blog. Women are not wired to have sex with emotional detachment. Those that can and do are trash, sluts, etc. I hope that’s not you Tracy…
February 5, 2008 at 6:09 pm
i never said such a thing (please send me the comment url if i did). perhaps hope did.

Notice she didn’t say she wasn’t a slut.
el-oh-el.
February 5, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Let’s face it. Who doesn’t love passing judgment?
I suspect that it disturbs the average person to see “slutty” women “getting away with sinning.” Knowing that a woman is “acting like a man” insofar as having sex sans emotional attachment deeply offend the sensibilities of most people, though her actions result in no offspring.
The only thing worse would be to find that she also possesses incredibly feminine characteristics of beauty, guile and flirtatious charm — making her task of engaging in such acts so much the easier. How dare she engage in such epicurean indulgences of pleasure?
Likewise, a scenario not too far removed from the previous is rumors of a woman who has fantasies about acting like a slutty woman. Most people’s first instinct to reports of this woman is to chastise her. Hence women most often keep such thoughts to herself.
For most men, action springs forth from thoughts — and they have trouble understanding the elaborate female frontal cortex which wraps a tight coil around a woman’s impulses. It is not so much logic that controls her actions, but her very nature, which is most easily broken by men who have wounded her.
These are primal reactions, remnants of our tribal heritage. A man and a woman shall ever be scandalized and angered by each other’s perceived transgressions vs. the “righteous” and “moral” standards — in other words, each one’s own purely selfish agenda.
It’s only instinct.

In her story, Miss Tracy Lord (gorgeous pseudonym, by the way) was emotionally attached to the vivacious young man.
She told him her whole story, voiced to him all of her grievances, and gave away to him many of her secrets. A woman cannot achieve emotional intimacy without such actions.
Alas, the only thing you men read was that she was physically attracted to him. But her physical response could not have existed without this connection from her psyche.
But keep passing your judgments. The world has been, and ever shall be, on your side.

hope, i adore your eloquence. i will say that i have a an ever-growing disregard for the judgments of others, and this includes what i do and do not do in the bedroom. those sitting on the sidelines scoring the actions of others with the liturgical harshness of a romanian judge…well, they’re on the sideline.
February 7, 2008 at 8:12 am
I’m the jester on the sidelines in cast. Now the half-time air was sweet perfume, while the sergeants played a marching tune. We all got up to dance Oh, but we never got the chance.
Its not judging to be called a slut. Your passing judgement on yourself, if you take offense to that. A slut is a girl that sleeps around alot. If tht’s what you do, then that’s what you are. I see no problem in accepting what you are.
Tracy you should write some stories about repeatedly seducing powerful/rich married men (say Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio) then you’ll move from the slut into the seductress range.
February 7, 2008 at 1:35 pm
matt, i’ll be traveling out to seattle in the next few months. we’ll chat in person.
February 7, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Your passing judgement on yourself, if you take offense to that.
Noticing others passing judgment is not the same as taking offense.
February 8, 2008 at 12:19 am
We’re both making observations.
Hence, the “if” statement.

Boys are stupid.
February 11, 2008 at 9:07 pm
I was looking up more videos for Ayashi no Ceres… found and loved this. Then I started searching for Sarah Brightman, and I came across this very video you posted.
Full circle.

Boys are stupid, but men are smart.
Why do females always do things backwards?
February 12, 2008 at 8:28 pm
@np: explain
February 12, 2008 at 11:38 pm
I had like an essay explanation, but then I got tired of writing it and found a way to condense it in a few sentences:
It was primarily a play on Irina’s words.
The underlying idea is that there’s a distinction between boys and men, just as there is a distinction between girls and women.
Women seem to just get more silly and ridiculous as they get older especially 20-40, while guys seem to calm down and start making sense.
There’s a much deeper, ying/yang, yield to force, blah blah blah omg kung-fu analogies to develop ideas background to what I’m thinking, but it’s just too much to type.
February 13, 2008 at 2:32 pm
of course men make sense to you, you’re a boy
women make sense to me because i’m a girl not yet a woman
somehow women and men make sense to me, even if one is ‘silly’
February 13, 2008 at 11:06 pm
The upside to irrationality is that everything makes sense.
April 7, 2008 at 10:01 pm
Why have you stopped updating your blog?
April 7, 2008 at 11:36 pm
@hope: this story is over. i’ve started a new chapter.
April 14, 2008 at 8:23 am
I hope you don’t come to Seattle in June… I’m getting shipped out to Orlando for TechEd… which is really sweet.
June 25, 2010 at 9:55 am
Enjoyed the poem very much. I am hoping you will share some of this new chapter of your life.
